Standard of Truth
The Bible gives us a way by which we can evaluate the validity of a message or messenger:
"To the Law and to the Testimony, if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no Light in them!" Isaiah 8:20.
In a world filled with religious confusion, the standard of truth is the Word of God.

Not Sanctified
As the crisis approaches a large class who have professed faith in Gods commandments, but have not been sanctified through obedience to the truth, abandon their position and join the ranks of the opposition.
By uniting with the world and partaking of its spirit, they have come to view matters in nearly the same light; and when the test is brought, they are prepared to choose the easy, popular side.
Men of talent and pleasing voice and words, who once rejoiced in the truth, use their powers to deceive and mislead souls. They become the most bitter enemies of their former brethren.

Our Daily Test
Day by day God instructs His children.
By the
circumstances of the daily life He is preparing them to act their part upon the
wider stage to which His providence has appointed them.
It is the outcome of the daily test that
determines their victory or defeat in life’s great crisis.

We are on Trial
We should never forget that we are placed on trial in this world, to determine our fitness for (Heaven). None can enter Heaven whose characters are defiled by the foul blot of selfishness.
Therefore, God tests us here, by committing to us (earthly) possessions, that our
use of these may show whether we can be trusted with eternal riches.
