Real Battle

Could our spiritual vision be quickened, we should see souls bowed down under oppression and burdened with grief...and ready to die of discouragement. We should see holy angels flying swiftly to aid these tempted souls, who are standing on the brink of a high cliff.

Holy angels force back evil angels that encircle these souls, and the holy angels guide the tempted ones to stand firm on the sure Foundation.

The battles waging between the two armies of holy and evil angels are as real as those fought by earthly armies, but on the issue of spiritual conflict eternal destinies depend.

Cleansing the Mind

The only safeguard against evil is the indwelling of Christ in the mind through faith in His righteousness. It is because selfishness exists in our souls that temptation has power over us.

But, when we see the great love of God, selfishness appears to us in its hideous and repulsive character, and we desire to have it expelled from the soul.

As the Holy Spirit glorifies Christ, our hearts are softened and subdued, the temptation loses its power, and the grace of Christ transforms the character.
